SVN is now on Google

Postby Erin Catto » Thu Jan 21, 2010 2:48 pm

The latest development version of Box2D C++ can be found here:
http://code.google.com/p/box2d/

The SF page will be closed after the next release of Box2D.

Update: I've move the latest release of Box2D (2.0.1) to Google. There are no releases hosted on SF. You can still access the SF SVN for historical purposes.

Yeah, so I finally caught up with Erin's changes to the C++ version. It's still not quite usable though - a few bugs remain to be found, not to mention the fact patches of functionality are missing or broken. I'll be putting up a preview version soonish, though.

Hi Erin,

The "trunk" version at sourceforge.net is significantly different than Google's "trunk". The sourceforge-trunk has much more files and features then 2.0.1, 2.0.2 and google-trunk. What is the difference between google-trunk and sourceforge-trunk?

I am now quite confused what I should really use for my project? I want to be sure I have all features, but also that I am using a stable version :)

Thanks, Kenan.

The version on Google is quite stable and I fix bugs quickly. However, it is not well documented yet.

I am totally confused by the differences too. There are a number of things I was using from the SF trunk such as b2EdgeChain and the like. Is there a replacement for EdgeChain in the Google Code trunk?

Please look at the test bed to see how to construct chains of edges.

Hey Erin,

I have a patch against the latest trunk on Google Code that fixes and gets the iPhone build and tests up and running again. What's the best way to get the patch to you?

As always, all issues and patches should be filed here:

I'm done checking on the link. Thank you for sharing it. This will be a great help with the game that my company and I are trying to create.
