Hi,

If I move a kinematic body be say setting its position manually from x1 x2, or through actions (in Cocos2D iPhone), does the simulator calculate the forces, acceleration etc of the body as it is moved manually? i.e. it tracks the timestep it takes to move from x1 to x2, and so works out the forces necessary for that to happen - and so everything would collide correctly including "time of impact"?

Hope this makes sense.

Regards

i

Kinematic bodies get correct coupling with dynamic bodies when you move the kinematic body by setting its velocity. Setting the position of a kinematic body directly will cause poor dynamic behavior.
