Box2D Version 1.4.3 Released

Postby Erin Catto » Mon Nov 26, 2007 11:44 pm

1.4.3
- CCD work in progress.
- Added GJK distance algorithm.
- Fixed thin polygon collision.
- Custom allocators may now be used.
- Memory usage is tracked in b2_byteCount.
- Fixed non-centered polygon collision bug. The polygon position is now the centroid position. All vertices are now centered on the centroid. This fixes the SAT initial search direction for polygons that are not centered on the parent body.
- Added test to show how to apply forces.
- Added block size of 640 to support up to 16 polygon vertices.
- Changed test bed zoom controls: now 'x' and 'z'.
- Applied Xcode patch (thanks KIAaze, Jens Alfke, dlpnet)
- Fixed compound body freezing.
- Adjusted #includes for compatibility.
- Fixed asserts for release mode.
- Simplified the broad-phase.
- Added b2CollisionFilter for custom collision filtering.
- Attack of the class!

Please see TODO.txt for future plans.

Nice, but what is "Attack of the class"?

I had a number of structs with functions. I changed these into classes to fall in line with standard usage.

How's the CCD coming along? I'm very curious what you end up doing to implement it, because its very easy to get tangled up in complex scheduling stuff. I imagine that the best approach is going to be resilient to penetration, and just perform a single CCD pass each frame.
